Experienced in Restoring Confidence & Enhancing Natural Beauty
Since entering the medical field and transitioning to the aesthetics industry, sisters Jolee Hughes and Byerly Ham finally decided it was time to take a leap of faith and open The Lookshop. The two sisters went through nursing and nurse practitioner school together and have been talking about opening their own business for years. Fast-forward to 2021, and Jolee and Byerly ensured their passion for instilling confidence and enhancing natural beauty made its way to their hometown of Forsyth, Georgia.
Jolee Hughes APRN, FNP-C
Jolee Hughes, co-founder of The Lookshop, is from Forsyth, Georgia, and knew she wanted to serve in her beloved hometown. She graduated from Middle Georgia State University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2011 and went on to become a Nurse Practitioner, graduating from Georgia College in 2015. After over 10 years as a Registered Nurse (RN) and Nurse Practitioner (APRN), Jolee chose to pivot within the medical field and entered the aesthetics industry in 2018 and has always been passionate about opening a business with her sister.
Committed to educating her patients, Jolee completed the Allergen Medical Institute Master Course Training in 2019 and the Academy for Injection Anatomy in 2021. She loves helping her patients age gracefully by addressing problem areas with a personalized treatment plan. She enjoys helping her patients understand that their goal is not to change the patient’s appearance, but to create the healthiest, most confident version of themselves.
Jolee and her husband, Matt, have three kids – Byron, Emma Hope, and Charlee. Outside of work, she loves being on her family farm where they have chickens, ducks, and a potbelly pig. Jolee enjoys traveling with her family and reading a great novel with a glass of wine or cup of coffee in hand.
Byerly Ham APRN, FNP-C
Byerly Ham, co-founder of The Lookshop and also a Forsyth, Georgia native, shared the love for her hometown with her sister. She graduated from Middle Georgia State University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2011 and went on to become a Nurse Practitioner, graduating from Georgia College in 2015. After also having over 10 years of experience, Byerly switched gears with her sister and joined the aesthetics industry in 2018.
Byerly was a part of the Leadership Monroe class of 2018 and also holds Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Life Support certifications, carrying qualities from both achievements over into her leadership roles at The Lookshop.
Byerly is excited to be practicing in her community while giving people a safe, modern environment to enjoy. She loves regaining her patients’ confidence by enhancing their natural beauty. To her, seeing the transformation and her patients’ reactions to before-and-after photos are the best part.
Byerly and her husband, Kurt, have a two-year-old, Maggie. They love spending their time in Forsyth, a community that is constantly evolving and growing with new additions while still offering a small-town feel. She and her husband have been coaches at the local recreation department, assisted with Forsythia events, and provided the Forsyth Foxhunt as a part of the Monroe Leadership class. They look forward to continuing their community involvement.
